Registration of customer having ATM card/ Debit card

You can register your mobile with the help of an SBI ATM or bank branch. Customers with ATM cards do not have to visit the bank to do the registration. They can do this with the help of a website or by visiting ATM.

The stepwise process through the website:

1. Go to the https://www.onlinesbi.com website, log in to your account.

2. Visit the profile page and tap on the profile information link.

3. Enter your profile password, as you enter the password your name, email address and mobile number registered with INB will appear.

4. Select the link ‘change mobile number-Domestic only’ it can be done through OTP request, ATM, or Contact center.

5. A new window of personal details to edit or update mobile number, will appear which consists of three tabs. The tabs are ‘Create Request’, ‘Status’, and ‘Cancel Request’.

6. Enter your new mobile number on which you would like to receive notifications.

7. You have to re-input the number. Then tick on SUBMIT key.

8. On the same screen, a message will pop up that ‘verify and confirm your phone number’.

9. Click on “Ok” to continue further.

10. Here you have to choose an option to approve a change of your mobile number. Select from

i)OTP (one-time-password) on both phones

ii) Approval through IRATA- Internet banking request through ATM

iii) Through contact center

11. After this step, make a selection for the account possessing a debit card. Then continue by selecting on proceed button.

12. It will show you the debit card/ cards affiliated with that account.

a. OTP approval:

If you have both the phone numbers with you, then only you can proceed with this option.

i)Perform steps 11 and 12 then, the selected debit card will be displayed, enter the details like valid up to, expiry date, name, pin, and captcha. select the proceed button.

ii) After the confirmation is valid or not an OTP will be sent to you on both mobile numbers.

iii) Now you are having two passwords, send an SMS in this way: ACTIVATE <8 digit OTP value>, <13 digit reference number> to 567676 in the time limit of four hours. For example: ACTIVATE 15645678 UM12053506124

iv) After the validation is successful your new number will be updated in INB, CBS, and ATM. After the change, a message will be received by the customer.

If you do not have the previous mobile number, send the SMS through the new phone number then. Within three days, the contact center of SBI will call you. Authenticate and confirm the reference number before giving any particular details to the contact center. Your mobile number will be updated on successful confirmation of your details.

b. IRATA approval:

i)Perform steps 11 and 12 then, the selected debit card will be displayed, enter the details like valid up to, expiry date, name, pin, and captcha. select the proceed button.

ii) After the authorization, a note will appear on the display to the customer thanking you for enrolling your contact number with them. The report of the customer application is pending. It will ask you to complete the registration based on the option you selected, and provide you with guidelines for the task completion. How to change mobile number in SBI ?

iii) An SMS consisting of “Reference number” for change/update mobile no. in this format UMXXXXXXXXXXX and IRATA Reference number will be given by INB on your new phone no.

iv) After visiting the state bank ATM, swipe the Debit card then select the services tab and enter your 4-digit pin.

v) Choose the ‘Others’ option on the display and then select the ‘Internet Banking Request Approval’ key.

vi) To approve your request, enter a 10-digit reference number here. Your request of changing your mobile number will be accomplished after the process completion.

vii)After successfully validating the OTP request and Reference number new mobile number will get updated in INB, ATM, and CBS.

viii) The customer will receive a message on the new mobile number of successful updation of the phone number.

c. Contact center approval:

Use this option if you misplace your old mobile number or if you do not have time to visit the ATM. On selecting this option:

i)Perform steps 11 and 12 then, the selected debit card will be displayed, enter the details like valid up to, expiry date, name, pin, and captcha. select the proceed button.

ii)After the verification, a word will appear on the display to the customer thanking you for recording your contact number with them. The status of the customer request is pending. How to change mobile number in SBI ?

Further, it will ask you to complete the registration based on the option you selected, and provide you with guidelines for the task completion.

iii) An SMS consisting of “Reference number” for change/update mobile no. in this format UMXXXXXXXXXXX will be given by INB on your new phone no.

iv) You will receive a call from Bank’s Contact center person within the next three bank working days, on your new number.

v) Do request for a Recommendation number from the Contact center, do not share any individual details with anyone.

vi) Your identity will be verified by the contact center on the call by asking you a few data.

vii)After successfully validating the Reference number new mobile number will get updated in INB, ATM, and CBS.

viii) The customer will receive a message on the new mobile number of successful updation of the phone number.

Viewing Status and Dissolution of Request:

You can also inspect the status of your application for updation or modification of your mobile number by INB.

 A. Firstly, log into the SBI website- https://www.onlinesbi.com

B. Select the Profile label after login.

C. Select the Personal Information link.

D. The name, mobile number, and email address will be displayed ‘registered’ with INB.

E. Select the link ‘change mobile number-Domestic only’ it can be done through OTP request, ATM, or Contact center.

F. A new window of personal details to edit or update mobile number, will appear which consists of three tabs. The tabs are ‘Create Request’, ‘Status’, and ‘Cancel Request’.

G. Select the status option over there to see the present status whether it’s pending or successful to change your phone number.

H. If you wish to cancel a request select the ‘cancel request’ option.

I. Your request will get cancelled after you click on the button. A message will be presented on the display saying “your reference number UMXXXXXXXXXXXXX is successfully canceled”.

How to change mobile number in SBI ?

If any of your numbers are not in the records of the bank, then you can register your mobile number by visiting the SBI bank or SBI ATM.

Follow these steps to get your number registered:

A. You need to go to SBI ATM first.

B. Swipe your Debit card and select ‘registration’ from the menu.

C. Enter your PIN and on the “mobile registration” tab.

D. Enter a mobile number you use every day to get the notifications.

E. Then click the “correct” button if you think the number is perfect.

F. Click on the “correct” option after entering your mobile number again.

G. After doing all this, a word will pop up on the display thanking you for the registration of your contact number with them. You will receive a call from the contact center within 3 days.

STEP 8: Bank will send you a reference number through SMS.

STEP 9: After you receive the call, the contact center will say your reference id and then you are free to share the details asked by the contact center. He/she will verify it over the phone and send you an SMS for confirmation.

Registration of your mobile number through Phone Banking

To update or change the number through phone banking you must be a registered phone banking customer. If you are one, then you have to call the SBI Contact center on the number 1800-11-22-11 or 1800-425-3800.
